with some scratches and rust and a little spots of paint

Clearly it was made for a purpose, and surely was part of some larger thing, but I have not been able to figure out what. Something related to spinning wool, perhaps? I purchased it because I thought it was just a beautiful and curious sculptural object that would look great propped or hanging somewhere or perhaps could be put to use in a new way! The six wooden spokes end in teeth as they meet at the center of the
