Elisabeth Hemling, Early 19th Century Watercolor Portrait, Presumed Lancaster PA bone and ebony dominoes as do the swirls ofI purchased this one from a favorite, longtime dealer in the Hudson River Valley, whose shop I never leave empty handed. Right up my alley, I believe this folk art watercolor portrait dates to the fairly early 19th century executed on paper that was that was then cut out, along with her hand written in ink name, and adhered to pale blue backing paper.
