Description
Probably a school project
Less the lost ribbon
and then the caliper pulls out to measure 2 inches
it appeals to me in many of the same ways as ancient Roman glass vials do--encrusted
There may be an incised mark at the center of the bottom but I am unable to distinguish it
Antique (c. 1860s-70s) Carte de Visite of Hand-drawn Portrait architecture book Probably a school projectI'm always looking for daguerreotypes of drawings or paintings, but hadn't thought to look for CDV's of the same until coming across this one while digging through a box of old photos and ephemera in Maine this week. It looks to me that the portrait photographed was done in charcoal, with particular attention paid to the subject's earrings and brooch. Certainly it was drawn by an academically trained artist, and I would guess a known and notable one.
